Southbank
Don't ask me what type of bird this is, I just though it looked interesting enough to photograph. This was taken with a 70 to 200mm zoom lens hand held at full zoom. So apologies for the slight lack of focus.
Emma
This is our niece Emma. She can be quite the poser when a camera is pointed at her. Maybe she's destined to be a model. This shot was also taken at full zoom hand held.
Surfers Paradise Beach
Lisa's sister Donna took us out for a day to Surfers Paradise. The beach looks idyllic.
Surfers Sign
Just in case you're not sure where you are, they write it out in big bold letters.
Two Pelicans
Dan and his dad Pete took me out on their boat for a day's fishing. We had a great time until the weather turned. When we got back to land and were about to lift the boat back onto the trailer, these two pelicans became very interested in what we were doing. Maybe they could smell the fish.
Opera House at Night
This was my first view of the Sydney opera house. I grabbed this shot on my phone as we were passing.
Aproaching the Opera House
We didn't have sunshine all of the time but this building looks impressive in any weather and from any angle.
Lisa Windswept
No she's not trying to hold her head on, just trying to keep her hair from going its own way.
Opera House Front
The day brightened up and the opera house looks even more imposing when you're stood right under it.
Harbour Bridge
Can't visit Sydney harbour without getting at least one picture of the bridge.
Church
I like the way this church is framed by the trees and the fountain. I had to do some post processing though to get the exposure looking right.
Opera House from Glenmore
I took this picture from the rooftop bar of the Glenmore Hotel just as the light was beginning to fade. The building in the foreground spoils the image somewhat but I still think it's a great view.
Puffing Billy
This is Puffing Billy. The train that took us on a picnic to Lakeside in the Dandenongs.
Outward Journey
All of the kids loved the ride on the steam train. Most of the adults seemed to enjoy it too.
Blowing Off Steam
It looks like Puffing Billy had to work hard to get us to the Lakeside station. His work isn't done yet though.
Thinks it's a Chicken
I don't know what kind of bird this is but I think it speaks chicken. When I made chicken noises it seemed to respond. I don't speak chicken though so I've no idea what I said to it.
Homeward Bound
This bride on the return journey looked rickety but it felt perfectly solid. It all added to the old world feel of the place.
